The Humanities Collaborative at EPCC-UTEP provides students with a variety of opportunities to pursue their passion in the humanities while gaining valuable research and career-related experience.
Undergraduate Research Fellow
Undergraduate research fellows work with a faculty members at UTEP or EPCC on specific research projects that can be expanded into public programming that the community at large can participate in, building work experience and skills while connecting the humanities to the surrounding community.
Minimum Requirements:
Open to Junior- and Senior-level students
Must be at least one year from graduation
Overall minimum GPA: 3.3
Two faculty letters of recommendation
Eligible majors: English and American Literature, History, Philosophy, Spanish, German, French, Linguistics, Art History, Anthropology
Master's Research Fellow
UTEP master's fellows work with EPCC faculty fellows in the development of humanities-related community programming, aiding in the creation of original programming or the development of existing programming while gaining experience in expanding the outreach of the humanities into the community, event organization, publicity, and numerous other skills.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least one year from graduation
Overall minimum GPA: 3.5
Two faculty letters of recommendation
Eligible majors: English and American Literature, History, Philosophy, Spanish, German, French, Linguistics, Art History, Anthropology
Undergraduate Humanities Intern
Undergraduate interns will be able to work in a variety of non-profit humanities-related organizations on and off campus. These internships are aimed at providing students a true professionalizing experience, allowing them to conduct research while also taking part in the development of community programming. The selection of participating organizations is expected to change each academic year, allowing for a diversity of experiences available for Humanities Collaborative students.

Doctoral Fellow
UTEP doctoral students are paired with EPCC faculty fellows to gain experience teaching humanities courses in a community college setting. Doctoral students learn schedule and syllabi creation, classroom management, and professional development techniques, as well as practical teaching experience.

Openings for undergraduate and graduate fellow positions are accepted each academic year and are posted on the UTEP Job Mine each spring semester.
